Basic Cataract and intraocular refractive surgery
The activity of ESASO and its distinguished quality of education continue on our new e-learning platform “eLos” (https://esaso.org/elos-esaso-e-learning-ocular-surgery/)! Especially at this time, e-Modules can be an optimal and anyway enriching alternative experience. Thus, we are very proud and happy to announce the launch of the fourth ESASO e-Module on “Basic Cataract and intraocular refractive surgery”, 16 - 20 November 2020. Early bird discount from 5th to 19th October!

LASIK Procedures & Outcomes
This course provides a broad survey of the purpose, theory, techniques and outcomes of a variety of laser-based refractive procedures, from standard LASIK and customised ablation to reoperations and enhancements.
Particular emphasis is placed on results and outcomes as a measure of the safety and effectiveness of different procedures at various levels of correction.

Measuring, Biomechanics & Optics of the Cornea

This course provides an overview of corneal refraction with reference to the shape, health and biomechanical properties of the cornea.
The principles of measuring corneal refraction are discussed, as well as a range of postoperative issues, including understanding the patient’s experience of their own vision, how the cornea’s biomechanical properties will affect the outcomes of refractive surgery, as well as various complications arising from refractive surgery, both optical (in terms of induced aberrations) and non-optical (in terms of the cornea’s health generally).
Course Duration: 3 hrs 20 mins (5 modules)
